i/m the only one... is a very easy-to-relate-to lyric from the song "I'm the Only One" written and performed by Melissa Etheridge. The song appears on her album Yes I Am.

Released in 1993, the single hit number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the Adult Contemporary charts in 1995. Like many of the songs on her first album, "I'm the Only One" deals with relationships challenged by monogamy...actually, better said, by non-monogamy. You know, dealing with cheaters!! In the lyrics, Melissa sings about how much she suffered because her partner tells her that she has 'feelings' someone else. Sound familiar?
