We're launching with an exclusive line of music tees printed with what we believe to be central to music's soul - the lyrics. There are 9 different lyrics in our launch collection that we sell on identitee.com and in selected stores like Hard Rock. Each tee is printed with some of the most anthemic and personal lyrics ever written. And to make it more exciting, we've teamed up with iTunes ® to offer 10 free songs with each tee.
What is i/denti/tee's relationship with iTunes?
We teamed up with iTunes so we can offer 10 iTunes songs with each tee purchased*. i/denti/tee is not owned by iTunes though - we're just friends.
What is i/denti/tee's relationship with EDUN LIVE?
EDUN LIVE supplies the blank t-shirts to i/denti/tee. They arrive as blanks from Africa before they are printed on in the US. EDUN LIVE is also a founding partner of i/denti/tee
Is EDUN LIVE a Not-For-Profit-Organization?
No, EDUN LIVE is set up as a business and subject to taxes like most businesses. But because all the shirts are produced in Africa, by Africans, with African cotton, it helps generate revenue and sustainable growth in sub-Saharan Africa.
How long has i/denti/tee been around for?
i/denti/tee is a brand new brand - launched in December 2008.
How much does the identitee product cost?
Right now, all our products are $35. That cost includes the "i" lyric tee plus* the download code for 10 free iTunes songs.
What does 'grow-to-sew' African mean?
'Grow-to-sew' African means that from the cotton they source, through the spinning and knitting stages, all the way to the final logo print on the inside of every music tee - the benefit of each goes back to the people working on the product in sub-Saharan Africa.

Does i/denti/tee have permission to use these music lyrics?
Yes, we do! For every t-shirt sold, a royalty is paid to the publishers and songwriters of the lyrics. That's why we've included the i/denti/tee patch on the back of each t-shirt, which includes the names of each of the artists who wrote the song, along with the publishing company.
We wanted to start with a launch collection that included lyrics that formed part of the great music debates we were having, but also ones from a range of music genres.
When will you release new lyrics on tees?
Once we've collected enough submissions and votes from people on their favorite 'i' lyrics, we will tally up the most popular ones, approach the artists who wrote them to gain permission, then print them on new tee's. So no fixed date, but we're aiming to roll-out the next line really soon, and often again after that.
Do the t-shirts shrink at all?
Yes, they are made of African cotton that hasn't been pre-washed, so if you put them in a hot dryer they will shrink up to 6-8%.
No, we accept credit and debit cards only.
Do you discount if I buy 3 or more?
Unfortunately, it's a flat rate of $35 for the bundles, even if you are buying a few at once. But call us if you want lots (aka, more than 10) and we'll try to work something out for you. We do discount on shipping of multiple orders though - just ask for a total on your cart (this doesn't mean you've committed to buying them).
US orders: Just the regular sales tax applicable in your state/county. International Orders: You are responsible for any import taxes or duties. Please see our notes on check-out and ask your local customs office for more details as it varies by country.

US orders: are via UPS and take 3 - 7 days depending on which service you select and where you live. International orders are sent via United States Postal Service and take 5 - 10 business days, depending on which service you select and which country you are shipping to.
Can I exchange the tee for another one if it's the wrong size/color/lyric?
Yes, you can but only within 15 days from the purchase date. Contact our customer service center via email at customerservice@identitee.com. But note, you can only exchange the shirt. The iTunes code that is delivered to you on original purchase is final. For USA customers only.
I bought the tee as a gift; can I get a refund if they don't like it?
No, unfortunately, we don't offer refunds. You can exchange it for one that you'd like though. Or you could exchange it for one with 'I still haven't found what I'm looking for' on it, and see how they like 'dem apples?
When I submit my top 10 lyrics, does that affect the rankings on the left hand side?
Yes. Clever, huh?
Do the rankings on the left hand side determine the next 'i' lyrics to be printed on tees?
Pretty much. The most popular lyrics as determined by votes, will then be licensed to be printed as part of our next collection.

Yes. They are sold at select Hard Rock stores and a few other really cool clothing shops.

Will you print 'i' lyrics on different colored tees?
At this stage we're just sticking to the classic black and whites, but who knows what the future holds.
Can I order a lyric on a cap, hoodie or any other piece of clothing?
Just tees for now, but again - we are looking at branching out in different directions in the future.
